Status update

Ok, so here is the first in the Status field.

First, I have completed my first two of three majors towards my first bachelors degree, so woot.

Second, I will be starting an internship in one of those two fields I have completed, woot.

Thirdly, my laptop is broken, in for repair, covered under a service plan from RadioShack if it isn't software related. Meh.

Fourthly, I am thirsty, always will be, unless I can get some watermelon. Yum!

New Information about YouTube

Ok, sorry for the lapse in blogging, I was going to focus on creating, editing and starring in my own YouTube videos. I will still make videos, and make them better now that I know that certain things will not happen. Things like getting paid for people watching my videos, not gonna happen unless YouTube wants me to become partner, which might happen in the future, but I'm not holding my breath. The screwed up part of this whole situation is that I had to muddle around and actually start the process of asking a question on the Google AdSense forum in order to find the answer to my question. My question being on how do I get paid by YouTube or Google for getting ads put on my YouTube channels and how do I do that? Well, you gotta be partner, that's the simple answer. If you want more, look at the forums on the AdSense site.

I will more than likely be posting more information on this blog than before. I like the idea of doneegee and in that spirit I will be writing articles hopefully related to Doneegee news, updates, and new exciting information. Hopefully I can pull this off while still getting my Triple Major Bachelor's Degree. Yay! Well, until next time, I am MikelRysk and this is rysky news.

Star Wars and other stuff

Ok, so now I am playing in a Star Wars Saga game. I go to my local game store and the owner who I know tells me, "You know that Wizards isn't covering that anymore, right?" What? I start playing a game and BAMF!, no more books for it. This isn't entirely true, just no more books from WotC, who are no longer carrying the Star Wars name. It's a popular title. I am sure somebody will pick it up. I am still going to play it for as long as we can. Plus, I am picking up the core book, just in case, so we can play it whenever.

Now, changing gears. I recently watched a cult classic called Jumanji. Probably one of the best boardgame movies out there. I really am thinking about kinda circumventing it a little and modifying it for a Rifts campaign. Who knows, maybe the stampede will kill everyone, especially if all the animals are made out of MDC hide. Perhaps they die while playing the game, what happens to their piece? This wasn't addressed in the movie. WTF? Doesn't matter, cause nobody died in the movie. Not this time around, people are going to die. It makes the game more believable, right?

next topic; going through some of these today. I don't understand why larping has gotten such a bad name. Any time that someone mentions larp its like that person is shunned and nobody talks to them anymore. What gives. I have tried larping, it wasn't horrible, especially not as bad as people make it out to be, so why? Why does it give gamers in the world the heebeegeebee's? It is just another game that, god forbid, gets you off your ass and out of the house to socialize while not being yourself with other gamers. I met a lot of fellow gamers thru larp, they no longer currently larp, but we still play games together. In fact, one of the people I met through larping is my roommate and we play Star Wars together with two other larpers, in point of fact. All descent guys, gamers, etc. So, if someone could explain why larping has gotten such a bad name in the gaming industry and gaming society in general, it would be much appreciated. Especially since it is just like those SteamPunk guys in costumes, which are kick-ass, all the time whenever I go to a Con. What gives, these guys and gals are pretty much larping, but they are thriving because they don't call it larping. I mean I talked to them about this same thing, and they were dead-set that what they did wasn't even remotely close to larping. I just don't get it. Perhaps, one day in the future, someone can answer this conundrum for me. Until then, good gaming, and be responsible since you never know when Cthulhu is going to be around the next corner.

Anime

To start off, I will discuss some aspects of the world of Bleach.

I enjoyed watching Bleach, the story line is unique in the sense of Soul Reapers. If you have never seen Bleach, stop right now and go and watch it. Moving on, the use of Soul Reapers I found interesting and will probably use the idea in one of my campaigns that I run along with the order of course. The characters in Bleach were well made and I wanted to see more of it, but, alas, it ended, at least for now. I found that the overall maturity level of the anime could have been higher, but then I realized that with the higher level of maturity, it probably wouldn't have been aired and more than likely not ran as long as it did. Moving on to characters.

The main character, Ichigo, was a very likeable character, but I thought that with his exposure to the other world, he would have matured a little faster then he did. However, even with his lack of growth in maturity, he did grow with his experiences in battle and with his interactions with the other characters. I found it quite confusing not knowing which of the women he fell in love with, be it Rukia or Inoue, but somehow, every female character somehow felt something towards Ichigo. I know it makes for interesting plot, but it also made it more confusing.

Another reoccuring character within the series was Rukia. She was the original Soul Reaper who had come to the land of the living to protect the city that Ichigo lived in. I had fun watching this Anime.

Other Anime that I have watched include: Naruto, Naruto: Shipuden, Cowboy Beebop, Trigun, Inuyasha, Inuyasha: Final Act, etc. I may comment on these in the future.

The Order of Donegee

This is an idea that I have had floating in my brain for quite awhile. Simply, the order of Donegee is made up of members who belong to the classification of humans known as Dorks, Nerds and Geeks, hence DoNeGee. I am unsure as to the qualifications on what to write about, so this blog is to include anything related to but not limited to the information and opinions of myself and other members who consider themselves worthy of participating in this most glorious of hardships.

Currently, I am a full-time student with majors in Physics, Mathematics and Computer Information Systems (CIS, confused among my family think CSI). I am also considering adding a minor in Broad-field Natural Science. I am also a gamer. My knowledge into many games has come over time, but I know that I don't know them all. I have played Dungeons and Dragons (1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th editions and all in between such as 3.5), Rifts (Palladium system is my favorite), Serenity, Star Wars, Star Trek, Red Dwarf, Werewolf: the Apocalypse and many others. I have also played some of the more popular board games of our time such as Settlers of Catan (a whole lot of fun with friends), Munchkin, Bang!, and some others. I have also played in some card games such as Magic: the Gathering (the one I have played the most of), Gallactic Empires, Cyberpunk and some other ones.

Now that my background is finished, I will proceed into the entries that will make this blog.

Our first topic is going to be on Anime that I have seen.
